A hookah (uqqa, which in Arabic means small box, jar or jug), shisha (Shishe in Persian meaning glass), or narguile (in Persian n?rgil meaning coconut), is a traditional smoking hookah, also called hookah or kalian. It is often a pipe containing water rolling around in its base, a suction tube, the aroma container which can be covered with aluminum foil, an together with which can be placed the components of coal. It is used mainly in North Africa, from Morocco to Egypt. The UK glass industry is pursuing an active programme on energy efficiency and decarbonisation. But building the business case to secure funds remains a barrier. Capital costs can be very high and paybacks periods are often in excess of two years; traditional loans are usually unattractive for this work.
